@everyone It's been a little while since I've posted an announcement so here's a general update on what I've been working on! What's New Forum Channel Support Forum channels can now be indexed & have mark as solution used in them! You can set this up to either use tags or reactions when a question is solved via the web dashboard Analytics (Beta) Server Owners now have analytics to see how their community is doing both in terms of questions being answered in the server and with how Answer Overflow is helping the content of their server be discovered. This is a first pass at analytics and the plan is to expand on this much more in the future, for instance providing insight into what queries people find your content from the most and what the most popular questions are to help improve documentation Read The Rules Consent You can now put the consent prompt in either your membership screening, custom verification channel, or forum channel post guidelines and users will be marked as consenting! Here's a preview of what it looks like for membership screening and forum post guidelines Communities with read the rules consent have screen significantly higher consents and it's a great way to get consent from your members while keeping them informed What's Next Answer Overflow Open Source Answer Overflow is going open source! A big focus of open sourcing Answer Overflow is making it easy to setup and contribute to, the current base of the project can be found on GitHub https://github.com/AnswerOverflow/AnswerOverflow/tree/Turbo-Repo-Base where I'm experimenting with how to structure to code and repository. To give a rough timeline on when the open source version will be ready, my estimate is 1-2 months. Development can be discussed in #contributing Hosting Content On Your Own Domain When the open source version of Answer Overflow is ready, server owners will have the ability to host content on their own domain either through self hosting Answer Overflow or via a premium membership. I'll be looking into making sure that communities currently on Answer Overflow are to have all of their indexed links redirected so they can start out on the free version and upgrade if they want to Along with this we've had some great communities join Answer Overflow recently and I wanted to highlight them below! https://www.answeroverflow.com/c/102860784329052160 https://www.answeroverflow.com/c/701008832645824553 These do a great job of showing how Answer Overflow indexes your content and makes it more discoverable Thanks everyone for your early support on Answer Overflow, I'm really excited about the work that's on the way and I'm looking forward to seeing how we can improve Discord help channels!
