Application did not respond error

Hello! Love the idea behind this app. Unfortunately, when i run the /channel-settings command I get Application did not respond error. What could I be doing wrong? I granted all the requested access to the bot.

Send consent prompt complains about missing permissions

Hey, after adding the bot to our server and enabling indexing, I'd like to send the consent prompt to the users. I've given access to the bot to only our #questions channel. You can see the permissions that the bot has in our Discord....

Sitemap Returns 404

Hi @Vero, yes that's expected We noticed recently Google was having some issues reading our sitemap, so we changed the way we generate it and now it just lists all pages from oldest to newest and serves it a lot faster - You can see that here https://www.answeroverflow.com/sitemap.xml For the individual community sitemap, was that serving a specific purpose for you? We're doing a new dashboard soon so if it's for seeing the # of indexed pages I can add that to it...

do posts **need** to be a thread?

can they just be messages and it'll get picked up by answeroverflow?

They can be but they won't be submitted on the sitemap - they'll just show up in search results

Can other bots autothread ?

Hi, I want to use needle, which has an autoclose-immediately feature. Am i able to still use answeroverflow to index a page assuming a different service is setting up the threads? This is in a text channel

Retroactive consent/indexing

I realized that the bot is indexing posts created before the bot was added to the server. I assume this only applies to users that consented after the bot has been added?...

That question will be stored in our database, but not displayed until the user provides consent

Disable bot responses

I saw that AnswerOverflow includes messages from other bots. These messages can be there for housekeeping/similar reasons. Is it possible to disable that behavior (at least for specific bots)?...

SEO Question

Is there any change in SEO-related matters? Suddenly, my visibility and click-through rates have significantly decreased. Even the platform I used to use consistently showed at least 2,000 to 3,000 impressions on weekdays, but now it's not showing any exposure at all

Hey, looking at the logs it’s only down for you it should be up for everyone else It looks like your sign in session expired with Discord and you need to log in again - I’ll update it so it won’t crash in that case...

Mark as solved via API

I am thinking about whether this bot would be applicable in some server that already has its own bot-supported help system. Is it possible to mark a question as solved via some API? I wouldn't really want to require users to use both the server-tooling and the Answer Overflow bot in order to mark a question as solved (and I would also only mark posts as solved instead of messages since solutions often span over multiple messages). I guess the only solution would be to add a solved tag with the bot (or to not mark questions as solved). I assume this would work and not change anything about consent?...

Consent with multiple users

The docs mention:

In order to comply with the Discord terms of service and respect user privacy, Answer Overflow requires users to provide consent to publicly display their messages.

So, if the asker in the help channel consented but other people (possibly giving the answer) didn't, will the post still be indexed? If so, I guess it only shows messages of the actual user? Does it also provide some information about messages being missing on the website?...

Solution:

Post is still indexed and stored in our database, for users who haven’t provided consent it’ll show as “sign in and join server to view”

Ability to add tags to remove whenever a thread is marked as solved

Hey there, in my community we have the Open and Solved tags for forum channels so we're able to easily filter for support threads that need to be answered, curious as to how I could make it so whenever the Solved tag is added, the Open tag is removed? If it's not possible that's fine I can add support for it in the community Discord bot. Thanks for the help in advance!
